Book #46

Keep Holding OnKeep Holding On by Susane Colasanti
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is probably more like 2.5 stars.  I liked it but I was kind of expecting this book to be a little more, I don't know, dramatic? Graphic? Gritty?  There wasn't enough detail in the key situations for my liking so I was a little disappointed.  But I adore Julian and Simon (and I must admit, I even liked Matt).

Daemon Invasion Tour

On Wednesday, June 13, 2012 Jennifer L. Armentrout brought the #DaemonInvasion Tour to Barnes and Noble at Waterford Lakes in Orlando. As soon as I heard about it, I knew I would be taking half a day off from work to attend and boy am I glad that I did! Jennifer was absolutely amazing and so damn nice AND she brought The Pretties wit here, Pepe Toch and Sztella Tziotzios (the models from the Lux Series book covers)!!!  They did a Q&A (hearing Pepe say "Kitten" had everyone pretty much squeeeing! and I was very happy to find out that there will be more of Daemon's POV in the books to come.), signed books (including ARCs of Onyx (Lux, #2) and took pictures with everyone.  After the I had gotten all of my books signed and my fill of pictures with them all, my friend and I decided to go and get something for dinner.  While wandering around outside, trying to decide where to eat, we ran into Jennifer again and she invited us to join them for dinner.  How could we refuse?  All in all it was a really great day!  Thank you to Liz from Entangled Teen, Jennifer, Pepe and Sztella for making it such a wonderful experience!

Book #45

Onyx (Lux, #2)Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG!!!! So freaking good!!! When Liz said this book was epic, she wasn't kidding!! This book is full of action, snark and sexual tension. Exactly how I like my books! I cannot wait to read Opal (Is it December yet?)!! I think I have a little bit of a girl crush on Jennifer L. Armentrout now. She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors and Daemon Black is definitely one of my favorite book boys!! If you haven't read this series yet, you need to drop everything and read it. NOW!!!

Stay tuned for pictures from Jennifer's stop in Orlando during the Daemon Invasion Tour!!!

Book #43

WintergirlsWintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(3.5 Stars) I'm not sure what to say about this book. It was a very sad and disturbing book with sort of a happy ending. My heart aches for Lia and Cassie and all the other wintergirls in the world.

Book #42

The Vincent Brothers (The Vincent Boys, #2)The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(3.5 Stars) This book started out a little shaky for me. It took me a while to warm up to Lana and I didn't like the direction some of the characters were heading in. Sawyer became a totally different person which took some getting used to (I didn't mind since he ended up being not so perfect and polite). I also didn't like how crazy possessive Beau was over Ashton. I mean, it seemed like if someone just breathed in her direction, he'd be up in arms and in their face about it. It was a little too over the top for me. But other than that even though I didn't love it as much as The Vincent Boys, I still really, really, really liked this book. (Oh, except for that text message in chapter 19. I almost stopped reading at that point. Glad I didn't.) Beau is still on of my favorite Book Boys. *sigh*

Book # 41

The Wrong PathThe Wrong Path by Vivian Marie Aubin du Paris
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

(1.5 Stars). I really didn't like this book at all. It actually made me mad reading it. From the title I had such high hopes for this book. I expected much more drama and heartache. I didn't realize that the wrong path was hanging out with the mean girls and dating the quaterback or having your parents join a country club so that you can have friends and basically being a sheep and following the herd. Annabelle has to be the weakest, most annoying female character I've come across in a long time. She's afraid of everything, cries over everything and seems to be socially stunted. I don't get how going to private school means you have no friends and makes you unable to tell when people are joking with you. You would think she had never been around people before she is so naive. She is constantly gasping, gaping, bursting into tears or wondering if someone is going to murder her. Halfway through the book I was wishing someone would. This book was a huge disappointment to me.

Book #40

I Hunt KillersI Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

(4.5 Stars) This book took me a little while to get into. I even put it down and read a few other books before finishing this. I am so glad I picked it back up and finished it! I am a huge True Crime fan and read just about everything I can about serial killers and the people who catch them and thiw book was disturbing even for me. To think of someone trying to raise the perfect sociopath is just insane, bizaar, disturbing, unthinkable....you get the point. You can't help but root for poor tormented and tortured Jazz. Even when there are times when you really don't know if you should be. If you like suspense and little bit of gore, this is a book for you. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under like 15 though.

Book #39

Tempting the Best Man (Gamble Brothers, #1)Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really, really liked this book. Having fallen in love with the Lux Series I couldn't wait to read this and was not disappointed! I can't wait to see what the future hold for the Gamble Boys (althought Chase is my favorite so I hope his and Madison story is continued)! Jennifer is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!
