Book #57

A Little Less GirlA Little Less Girl by Tess Oliver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked this book!  I liked all the characters, the story, everything!  It had a little romance, a little mystery (even if I did figure it out early on), a little suspense just a little bit of everything for everyone!  And Jake West could be my romantic hero any day!

Book # 56

Heart On A ChainHeart On A Chain by Cindy C. Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was heartbreaking to read about what Kate had to endure for pretty much half her life at home and at school.  What was most frustrating was that no adult ever stepped in until it was almost too late.  As bad as some of it got, there was still plenty of good to make me smile through my tears.  I absolutely adore Henry and his family.

Book #55

Cross My HeartCross My Heart by Katie Klein

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(3.5 Stars) This would have gotten 4 stars if Jaden's mother wasn't so annoying and if there was a little more sneaking around with Parker and more rebellion on Jaden's part. I wanted to see her do a total 180 to a complete Bad Girl and start sticking up for herself. Like instead of helping her brother fix up his house, demanding that someone (or all of them) help fix up their house and her stupid busted faucet! But I had a feeling it was going to get fixed somehow, someway. ;)

Book #54

EasyEasy by Tammara Webber

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book made me both happy and sad at the same time. I didn't realize it was going to have such serious subplots going on. I would definitely recommend it for more mature YA readers due to some of the subject matter. I absolutely adore Lucas and was so hoping for an Epilogue to the Epilogue. 548 pages just weren't enough!

Book #53

My Life Next DoorMy Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This may be more like 2.5 - 2.75 stars.  I liked it, it was okay but it could have been better and I thought it was going to be.  I wish it had concentrated more on Jase and Samantha's relationship instead of throwing in all that extra drama.  Some of the characters didn't even really seem to serve any purpose to the story except to add drama that wasn't necessary (Clay, Nan...).  I also thought it would have ended a little differently with Samantha's mom.

Book #52

Rapture (Fallen, #4)Rapture by Lauren Kate

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book totally made me fall back in love with Luce and Daniel. After not being overly thrilled with the second and third books of the series, this one has completely redeemed it for me. I could not read Chapter 20 fast enough! For those of you who like me, did not enjoy the second and third books quite as much as the first, definitely make sure you read this one!

********SPOILER ALTERT!!!!********

My one problem with it however, is what happened to Luce's parent's in Georgia? Since she didn't die in her usual way, what do they think happened to her? Did the Throne make it as if that Luce just never existed?

Book #51

For Darkness Shows the StarsFor Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having never read Persuasion (or any Jane Austen books for that matter), I had no idea what to expect from this book.  By Chapter 3 I really didn't think I was going to like it and debated whether or not I wanted to bother reading anymore.  Boy am I glad I decided to continue reading it!  As soon as Kai showed up, it was all over for me.  I couldn't put this book down if my house was on fire.  It had me an emotional wreck until the very last chapter.  At least now, hopefully, I wlll be able to sleep tonight.

Edited 7/9/10

You know, I've been thinking about this books since I finished it so I think I need to change my rating to 5 stars.  I really did love this book!

Book #50

Falling in Between (Falling, #1)Falling in Between by Devon Ashley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

From the description of this book, I thought it was going to be way more serious than it was. It was definitely more light hearted than I anticipated it to be and I loved all of the characters in it. It is definitely for the more mature YA reader with all the gratuitous sex that goes on though.

Book #49

Redheads are SoullessRedheads are Soulless by Heather M. White

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

(2.5 Stars) It makes me sad that I didn't like this book more. I was so looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately, I think my favorite part about the book was the title and cover. Sophia annoyed and frustrated me. I didn't like how Sophia liked whichever brother she was with when she was with him but forgot all about him when she was with the other. If someone kept a secret like that from me, I would have punched him in the junk.

Book #48

Knee DeepKnee Deep by Jolene B. Perry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Told through the victim's POV you see how a relationship grows and progresses into an abusive one. Although Ronnie could be infuriating as you see her make up excuses for Shawn's behavior, what I found most disturbing were the parents.  For them both to be so oblivious was heartbreaking.  As was the guilt Ronnie feels for the abuse and the affects it has on everyone around her.
