Book #111 (My final book of 2012)

The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1)The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(3.5 Stars)  This is another hard one to rate.  It took me a while to get into it and then it just made me sad.  It wasn't at all what I expected it to be.

Book #110

Forget YouForget You by Jennifer Echols
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really, really wanted to LOVE this book.  Unfortunately, and Hillary, you will appreciate this, because Zoey annoyed me so much, I didn't.  I liked it.  It was a decent story and a quick read but most of the characters sucked.  I mean, her parents?  She'd be better off living in her car.  Her dad is so over the top, I couldn't stand reading anything he said.  Her best friends were just awful.  How does the fact that Zoey didn't feel like broadcasting to the world that her mother tried to kill herself suddenly become about them?  And how Zoey couldn't see that Brandon was not going to change for her was beyond me too.  I did, however, absolutely adore Doug Fox.  And Officer Fox as well.  They pretty much saved this book for me.

Book #108

Live Through ThisLive Through This by Mindi Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

(4.5 Stars)I really, really liked this book.  Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down and was up until the wee hours of the morning finishing it.  The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because due to the subject matter I just didn't feel right going that.  Like, how could I "love" such a heartbreaking story.  I pretty much knew what was going on from the beginning, but it still shredded my heart just the same.  I just wish there had been a Epilogue so that we would know that everything had turned out alright in the end.

Book #107

Flat-Out LoveFlat-Out Love by Jessica Park
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book was cute and the ending really saved it for me but I didn't like or connect with Julie. Otherwise it would have gotten more stars.  I thought Julie was very shallow.  In the beginning of the book she says how happy she is to be getting away from her "friends" so she doesn't have to hide that she likes school and learning just so she can be popular, but then she constantly makes fun of Matt for being smart and his fashion choices and wants to change almost everything about Celeste to make her popular.

Book #106

The Secret of Ella and MichaThe Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Despite some grammatical errors and words that I think were misused, I really enjoyed this book and it's characters.  And Micha's lip ring.  I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Books #104 and #105

Finale (Hush, Hush, #4)Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I am so disappointed in this book it's not even funny.  Hush, Hush is one of my favorite books and Patch is one of my favorite book boys.  This final book of the series just did not meet my expectations.  Then entire middle of the book could have been left out.  I was hoping this book would have gone back to the romance between Patch and Nora but there really wasn't much of that.  And the Epilogue?  I really didn't care what happened to Vee and some guy we never even got to meet.

Catching Jordan (Hundred Oaks, #1)Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This gets between 3.5 and 4 Stars.  It would have gotten more if Jordan, a girl who was so scared of receiving her first kiss, bailed on it, hadn't given up her V card after the second kiss.  That seemed totally out of character for her.  Other than that, I really enjoyed the story and the characters.

Book #102

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars This is another book that's difficult to rate. While I enjoyed it, I didn't really care for the Protagonist.  She was kind of annoying and, well, dumb.  Really?  She couldn't tell that Travis wanted to be more than friends?  And the fact that she never told him how she felt at Thanksgiving made me want to kill her.  There were other little things that bothered me about the book.  Like how Shepley and America constantly spoke for Travis, and all the "huffing", "puffing" and "grabbing of faces with both hands".  I also think both of their backgrounds were left to be way to vague.  Abby was running away from this rough life but all I saw was that her father had a gambling problem.  And Travis became such a good fighter from getting beat by his dad and brothers, but when they call, he runs to play poker with them or cook them a Thanksgiving meal.  While it was entertaining after reading some of the reviews, I expected more from it.  I loved Travis though, for the most part.  I didn't like that once he got with Abby, he kind of lost his edge and just came as being possessive and a little crazy.

book #101

Silence (Hush, Hush, #3)Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this series!  So happy there is going to be a fourth book!  I will never get enough of Patch!

  Edited 11/30/12

Still love Patch.  Not so fond of the other characters anymore.  I really can't stand Nora's mom and Vee is a horrible best friend.
